Interesting news. (Note I changed the thread title). Too late. I already uninstalled SMP, version 6 and went to Version 7. SMP seems to be folding okay.

I finally got the GPU to run this morning. I followed that "staypuft" poster's instructions and it started. The stats are hard to figure. They showed some impossibly high PPD and low percentages completed. GPU ran for a while and failed. The log file is a mess ... maybe others can read it, but there is a lot of irrelevance in there. Now I have to figure how to restart it cuz is hasn't.

No apparent interference with SMP.

Question. I think I let the installation take the default slots of -1 for each. SMP took 8 slots (I have 8 cores). Does the GPU need any slots or will it run standalone? That is my impression.

I have another idea and suggestion.

IF your SMP folding is working great right now with the OTHER folding client, why not leave it alone and only use version 7 for GPU folding only?

Seems that way there should be less interfernece and things to go wrong.

I mean, yeah, its a good idea to have one folding client for both CPU and GPU folding, but it appears there are conflicts and bugs.

I would personally let my CPU (SMP) foling alone with the client that is running it, and use the version 7 exclusively for that new video card of yours.

Does this make any sense????? lol!!!!!!!!!
