I think it is fair game to ask whether the too-big-to-fail commercial banks are the right set of folks to receive the QE.

But at the moment, is there an alternative?

Using all of about 10 seconds thought (which is very dangerous), I think it would be great if QE was aimed at local banks whose main business is mortgages.

like me are just too stupid to get it.

Arbitrarily give out money to people that may or may not do or produce something of value.

Then they can give that money in return for something of value someone did make an effort to produce.

QE3 here we come.
