re: "The other poster was saying what a shame it was that a baseball pitcher made more than a school teacher."

I've had eight or nine jobs in my life. Each paid more than the one before. Each was easier than the one before. Each was more specialized than the one before.

It's a common liberal fallacy that the difficulty of the work should determine the pay. DEAD WRONG. Pay is properly set by the importance of/demand for the work being performed and the difficulty in replacing the people who do it at the desired level.

When I was twelve years old, I used to deliver 1,000 store flyers door to door. It took me an entire weekend... about 16 hours... for which I was paid $20.00. I hope I never have to work that hard again, except in a labor of love. It's doubtful that I ever will... though I see the Spanish speaking illegals in my town soliciting for even harder jobs, for less money (inflation adjusted), practically every day.

This is something liberals do not and will never understand.

Gold is $1,581/oz today. When it hits $2,000, it will be up 26.5%. Let's see how long that takes. - De 3/11/2013 - ANSWER: 7 Years, 5 Months

...if Im a corporate ceo type (which I ain't) and they slashed by money, I would be leaving smaller tips if any when I ate out and I would be cleaning my own pool and cutting my own grass. Mz Ribit would have to iron my shirts. Thing is, there are a lot of people who would suffer before me and mz ribit.

...but, I do agree that some or perhaps most of these folks are overpaid. Reminds me of a discussion on another board. The other poster was saying what a shame it was that a baseball pitcher made more than a school teacher. I told him, "Not if she has a 100 mph fastball."
