Understood. You were testing the even-handedness. I think this wasn't judged well by snackman. On the other hand, I agree he has to take hard decisions and it is his to do. It's just that sometimes we make mistakes. I was disappointed he didn't react differently to my complaint. It was remediable in my view. If he couldn't see the insult, he could surely see the offence which tells you something about the quality of the original comment.

Same time, I understand the difficulties. Some conversations are impossible to manage and you have to choose whether to let them happen or strangle them in the cradle. I generally try to ask folks to lower the heat if it is getting out of hand as I don't like deletions; and most everyone has been kind enough to do so when asked. But snackman has a larger community and has to be more economical.

It is a shame the animosities are so extreme.

three posts, three name changes, all of the content otherwise authored by rwk. I was just exploring whether changing names would jostle sensibilities.
