KTC> Why do we have a central bank?

KillTheCat,
If you do not know the answers to the questions
you have asked . . . there is absolutely no hope
for you.

Are you truly so stupid you do not know?

The answer to all those questions is the same.
So 'folks' can buy what they need to buy.

And there are laws, rules, and regulations to all
these 'avenues of commerce' and all the entities
which use them.

The grocery store has no obligation not to sell
folks junk food. The grocery store will sell an
alcoholic beer and wine just as fast as it will
sell groceries. And that is as it should be.

People have got to take responsibility for their
own actions.

On the other side of the coin, the grocery store is
not allowed to sell poisons and pretend they are
good food. We have an expectation that the meat we
buy is not laced with E-coli.

In a similar fashion, if I try to buy some Dominion
Resources on Wall Street I have an expectation that
I will indeed by buying shares of the stock I have
ordered.

And that would be the end of the 'liability'.

And if you can not understand . . . .
Europe sounds like the place for you.

Zim.

Zim:

Why does America have stock markets?

Why do we have brokers and primary dealers and such?

Why do we give them certain rights and privileges?

What do we expect in return?

Why do we have a central bank?
