KillTheCat,
If fannie and freddie are stupid enough to buy
'mortgages' with absolutely no check as to whether
or not they are good . . . (and, with government
orders they were buying . . .) I have a hard time
blaming wall street for selling what idiots were
buying.

Look back at what you typed. It appears you at
least recognize that the government got stupid
in their attempts to 'make a mortgage available
for everybody' . . . . but the only way to do
that is to pretend like clowns who should never
be given a mortgage are 'creditworthy'.

DG:

That would be a misuse of credit. We, the government engaged in this, justifying it by a desire to increase home ownership among minorities and the poor. Wall Street Scumbags then took up the cause with phoney credit reports, incomplete disclosure, and such to peddle their garbage to Fannie and private institutions who wrongly trusted these swine who should have been exterminated years ago.
