Hi BAP,

Yes, the unfamiliarity with Windows 7 versus the comfort zone of XP.

I went through that as well and am still groping my way through windows 7 as well.

HOWEVER,

to get to the ADD/REMOVE programs in the CONTROL PANEL

Click on the PROGRAMS or START button at the bottom left of your desktop screen.

Click on CONTROL PANEL on the right side of that window.

When the control panel opens, on your left should be an option to change it to classic view. Do so.

You will see in the control panel icons and names of the tools there. Look down until you come to one named "PROGRAMS"

That is what yo want.

Find your GPU folding program in there and right click on it and select remove or uninstall or whatever it says along those lines. I am going by memory right ow.

To find that file ArVee is talking about you need to right click on the start button and select EXPLORE.

Open the C drive/programs/ GPU folding and click on ADVANCED USERS ONLY.

In the window you will see several FILESlisted.
A UNIT INFO file, QUEUE, and the one ArVee was talking about.

I would simply delete them all if they are there and then reboot. Try re-installing the software after that.

Let us know!

the best,

micro...

Hi BAP --

I almost hesitate to say anything because it's only based on v6, not v7 (FAH version that is, not to be confused with Windows 7). BUT, with that disclaimer, the file you're after that needs deleting is called client.cfg in FAH6, perhaps it's the same in 7. HAVING SAID THAT, in FAH6 there was a client.cfg file for both cpu and gpu folding, just in different places (or directories, or folders).

If you're clear on the disclaimer above, go ahead and do a File Search and maybe both will come up, one in a cpu or smp-related direcory and one in a gpu-related directory. If you've done this and have got this far, delete the gpu-related one and a new install should allow you to proceed.

Let us know, it's always nice to see you and anyone else bringing on new firepower and the team's been doing not all too shabby as of late as it is!

P.S. Remove or Delete Programs (in Windows Control Panel would have been another way to do it, at least in Win XP.
