...if you have the cash and ya find yerself a financial advisor with the experience, in just a couple of years, he will have the cash and you will have the experience. I knew a guy who went into the financial advisor bidness. Before that he was a store room advisor down at the phone company. Later on he became a chiropractor. All three careers are designed to provide employment for people too fumble fingered to be pick pockets.

Zim: This link is to the first of several articles
penned by Motley Fool regarding the folly of
selecting the wrong type financial advisor. Coupled
with 'the' belief that most folks need one.

Personally, I believe I will be a LOT better off
'rolling my own'. (Making my investments my way,
playing my game - within their rules, of course.)

Zim.

Given our near-unanimity about the importance of the "fiduciary standard," it's pretty depressing to learn that 76% of investors, according to a comprehensive study, are actually wrong "in believing that 'financial advisors' -- a term used by brokerage firms to describe their salespeople -- are held to a fiduciary standard." Clearly, Americans are not getting what they want when it comes to financial advice.

(Much much more where this snippet came from. Zim.)
