Hi doma,

Yes. The ole moral booklet contains some interesting curiosities and early ideas of wisdom, but it also retains its capacity to shock.

Apparently we have a fundamentalist lawmaker in some state spraying Leviticus threats on homosexual folks. It does good to remind one's self that the booklet has all sorts of funny ideas about moral behaviour which might be used against other ideas we treasure. Such as the protection of children.

From the Talmud.........

"Rava said: This is what was meant - an adult male who has relations with a female child has not done anything because less than this [three years old] is like sticking a finger into an eyeball."...

Doma.
