Well, then the governments should be taking the deal available now as the interest payments are miniscule on a relative historical basis.

Not sure why you say principal is never paid back. The total value of debt relative to the total size of the economy waxes and wanes. Before Bush came along, Greenspan was complaining that the US faced a problem because the country had so little debt: Bush sure fixed that.

Hi Alea.....

The game is the principal is Never paid back.....but
the money loaned is paid back many many multiples
in cumulative interest payments....
