hi dig,

i agree. i just think i should be excluded from any credit. yes i was aware that expanding the cost structure would lead to a cash issue if they couldn't grow sales. no, i didn't think they would expand like that in the absence of demand signals. so i discounted your doughnut for reasons that seemed rational to me.

so now i'm in a different place. i know that ss will take crazy risks and expand his cost base without any idea if they are sensible things to do, that he won't prepare for the possibility of failure - and that the board rubber stamped this kind of unrestrained decision-making. shareholders pay the price, of course.

this sequence demonstrates reckless management and reckless governance, both. i don't think you can defend short term failures of this type by applying to skills of positioning. a ceo must be able to forecast to some extent. but this guy just cannot seem to rein in his wild-eyed optimism. it is a charming quality. but it is a quality that damages the company over and over.

alea, if I dropped "potential" between "the" and "doughnut" then it would work?

The lines (revs, exps, or cashflow) were obviously headed south with some authority.

One can then see, in the absence of something significant, one can end up in a hole.

Whether one variably assumes on the basis of the lines and their clear divergence that something must be cooking (which would fill the hole, hence no hole manifest) or assumes that their whiskers aren't so sharp and there will be some hole, is too me parsing. The potential hole was well observed by many. So I took liberty and piled in anems off the top of my head that said anything like 1) a hole or 2) there must be something cooking .. cause otherwise there is a hole.

But I do recognize I was in many way inserting words. Apologies. A longer version read with less punch.

I of course, hole speaker or not, never imagined they could find the rocks with such gusto.
