Hi Mags,

The funny thing is, this is really not an argument which should be controversial at all.

There's a strange thing that has happened in the USA in which what is manifestly true becomes a thing worth hollering about.

The description of the super-rich as job creators is simple flattery. Good business ideas emerge from creative people rather than rich ones. Flattery of the 1% results in campaign contributions. I think that is the intended effect.

Wealth has the capacity to finance good ideas. But it makes sense for wealthy people to think as much about preservation of capital as taking risks. There's a reason that the iconic image of innovation is a garage. Brainy kids with a big idea pursuing their idea for peanuts, at first.

That wealth and efficiency in job creation are not correlated is surely obvious to anyone who thinks at all. To have an incentive, a person must want to bear the risk.

"If it was true that lower taxes for the rich and more wealth for the wealthy led to job creation, today we would be drowning in jobs."

This TED talk from a 1%'er, Nick Hanauer, asserts the fallacy of job creation by super rich capitalists.
