Bill has one less item on his plate. He can now focus on licensing and Scott can focus on the sale of patents. If that's the Doors playing in the background I hear, and this is The End, there is no need to bring on someone who is unfamiliar with the firm to do the job Scott has been given. Bill was likely stretched thin, dealing with the SA and still having licensing responsibility and countless other things as a CEO. Having Scott seperated from the traditional CFO role, which for a company like InterDigital, is not difficult in it that the Company has no inventory, has no work in progress because they do not develop a good, the biggest accounting issue is revenue recognition which is made even easier with reports coming a quarter later and recognized, the new CFO can easily take these tasks over and if the Company is sold they are giving the new CFO (an internal promotion) a break by giving him an addition to his CV, CFO for a multiple billion $ tech company ... Scott can focus all his attention on the sale of patents and not worry about budgets, forecasts and sale reports. Bill can focus on the licensing. No one new is needed, because this is the end ... my only friend ... the end.
its obvious that board prefers to have scott as the lead negotiator...its as plain as the nose on my face...that we are entering a new phase...hopefully the final phase
