You should have incredible schools. New York pays its teachers as if they are accountants or engineers.
But public school teachers only work nine months out of the year. And, if they're like the teachers here, they only have a 35 hour work week.
I took some school-teacher courses when I was in college. (They were electives.) They were, by far, the easiest courses I ever took. The general science class didn't hold a candle to the science class I had in 7th grade. And the other students were struggling!
It was an absolute joke.
