Hi tkc,
Thanks for the compliment! Not sure I am worthy of it. And certainly I don't think I am one of the highly respected ones: to be highly respected on a stock board, you must be optimistic.
I have just lost interest in the company because of the way it behaves. In general, I still like the TC idea. And I daresay Wave may succeed. But for me to be actively involved, I have to feel some sense of respect. And I have been losing that with Wave, such that at the minute, I feel like vomiting when I think about some of the stuff that is going on. Vastly increased compensation for directors, for instance, while the results disappoint.
I daresay awk, who wants Wave to succeed and tries his hardest to help it do so, can see very well that damage has been done which is more than merely disappointment in the quarter's numbers. The bigger issue is that the trust is disappearing.
Re DD, my interest was never in trying to correct people for its own sake. I was seeking to influence a conversation in which I cared about what was right.
When you cease to care because you have lost respect for the company, why would you wish to participate? I don't argue for its own sake. I argue with a purpose.
On top of which, I can't argue with people for whom integrity is negotiable. There's no common ground for conversation anymore.
I say this with a profound feeling of sadness.
My retirement is a statement of sorts. Even if my contributions are not especially vital to the conversation.
