Hi tkc,

How many kids dealt with a bully during their early years, my guess 50% or more.
I remember when I was in 8th grade & had to go to CCD (religious instructions after I left parochial school & went to public) well, there was a small group, with a nasty leader. She encouraged them to throw stones at me as I walked past them to get the special bus.
She was an overweight teen, and looking back I think she was jealous. I still remember her name & I'm going to be 63 in July! ;))

I replied to Joe Taylors post on my board with this.

I've been thinking about Romney & his response to this bullying event.
Responding on radio show, he laughed at first, said he didn't recall, but then apologized 'IF' his 'pranks' hurt anyone.

The act of pinning another down & cutting his hair, is NOT a 'prank', its assault & must have been terrifying.

I've also read an excerpt of Obama's book where he pushed a girl. And he felt shame for this act at the time.
Obama wrote about this, he owned his bad behavior & knew it was wrong & changed. The girl, now a woman has no recall of the incident & said he was her hero in school.

In retrospect, Romney was NOT liked by ANY of his peers when he ran in 2008. I mean McCain & Huckabee had a visceral dislike of him.
Even in this election, he has burned bridges, look at the tepid support he has from HIS side.

You know some people have wonderful abilities, great people skills. Bill Clinton comes to mind, his lifelong friends saved his presidency after he was impeached.

They say, look at a persons friends to help get the measure of the person.
So far, Ann is Mitts witness....

Hi Clo, although I think this is pretty much a non issue I have a little history that says maybe not. At my 50th H.S. reunion I immediately ran into someone that had tried to bully me. He started right in referring to me w/ nicknames he had used then. He was still bigger, stronger, wealthier (Dad was a Doc), and still a jerk. I had to laugh. Anyway some things don't change and I suspect that Romney has used his wealth to bully others. I'd be surprised if that doesn't come out.
