Just because I had to go across the street to retrieve my computer didn't necessarily mean that I threw it there. It could have grown wings and magically flown there on its own..........

BAP, when you set up that video card for folding, BE SURE to use WINDOWS BASIC for your desktop theme.

DO NOT use the aero. Also, depending upon the new toy you discovered (video card)if it is a really newer card, you will need to check on the drivers.

The latest one out from NVIDIA.com is supposed to be good.

Of course, I trashed that one completely, and installed the one Mark uses , that 258. something driver. It worked on that GTX 550Ti I have at work nicely.

Also, for you, avoid the temptation to overclock that card. IF you have 8 threads running on the processor and now this new beast, there is no need to overclock it.

We'll be here checking if you run into difficulty. Or you can email me.

Congrats on your new setup!

That's good getting the SMP going, BAP. If it's going right, that'll be a marked increase vs. singles. The only time I've ever used the -configonly flag/command is from DOS and I don't think that's an environment you'd find all that friendly or useful at this point. If you want to change something just as easy to do it from the GUI interface. Or in the case you have just done, I'd re-run a whole new setup in a different home or directory or folder and have that for SMP, while keeping the singles where they already are and simply dormant.

I wish someone would leave wrapped toys in front of where I live, I'd certainly unwrap them quickly. That'll be a likely even bigger boost than the one you've just done, something to look fwd to once you can get to it. It might not go perfectly the first try, as Micro will attest, but that's half the fun once you get beyond the urge to throw stuff, lol. Naughty We've all been there.
