re: "Where in the world did you get the idea that SoCal was NOT conservative? Have you ever actually lived in places like Orange or Riverside Counties?"
Is that your idea of logic? One must live some place to know about it?
Oh, my. I've never lived in San Francisco, either. Perhaps it is a bastion of Conservatism.
I'm from California. That's enough to make a person pay attention to things statewide. I've seen election after election going toward Conservative candidates and positions UNTIL the Southern California precincts start rolling in. Then, there's always a quick and dramatic turnaround.
You've seen this too, so you can stop playing games. We both know better.
Orange county has 3 million people. Republicans outnumber Democrats by 44% to 32%.
Riverside county has 2 million people. Republicans outnumber Democrats by 41.6% to 36.4%.
Together, these counties have 464,000 more Republicans than Democrats.
Los Angeles county has more than twice the people of Orange and Riverside counties COMBINED. Democrats there outnumber Republicans 52% to 24%. That's a 3 *MILLION* person advantage.
So, I'll stand by my statement. SoCal is NOT conservative. Not by a long shot. How could you not know this? Haven't you ever actually lived there, OCU????

Gold is $1,581/oz today. When it hits $2,000, it will be up 26.5%. Let's see how long that takes. - De 3/11/2013 - ANSWER: 7 Years, 5 Months
