re: "But not necessarily out-gunned"
Who are you trying to kid?
My wife is a gun instructor, and we live in an area of the state that makes even Southern California seem conservative. The interest in guns we see out here is at least FIVE TO ONE, conservative over liberal.
I may know as many as fifty people with more than ten guns. There are perhaps TEN liberals in that group.
Not all liberals are anti-gun. I realize that. Quite a few Virginians enjoy hunting, and although the weighting among them is decidedly conservative, many liberals do hunt. SOME of them have multiple rifles.
But, all that said, you're naive if you think you wouldn't be out-gunned. Quite a few conservatives, and virtually NO liberals, are stocking up for the same reason I have: Recognition of the possibility that one day, before too much longer, they will be needed for purposes in keeping with what the Founders had in mind when they wrote the 2nd amendment.

Gold is $1,581/oz today. When it hits $2,000, it will be up 26.5%. Let's see how long that takes. - De 3/11/2013 - ANSWER: 7 Years, 5 Months
