Well, I finally got the 550Ti working yesterday before I left without NANing and it has been contributing a little already.
However, the one in my office, the GTX 460 was a different matter. I thought I had it only to discover this morning it had NAN'ed itself out early after I left so it contributed nothing.
This morning I completely uninstalled the Precision Tuner and deleted the Queue, the fahlog and unit info from the folding folder, re-installed a fresh copy of Precision Tuner 2.1, and started up GPU folding again.
This time I was smart.
I let the settings at stock speeds, voltage included.
It is folding its merry little heart out again, no NANs . It is working on WU 8020 at 5 minutes and 19 seconds per frame, 15,500 PPD at this rate.
I did BUMP the shader clock a tad to 1609 from stock 1500 and will leave it alone for now.
I may try to gain a little more later, say maybe to 1668 or so and see what happens. But I will wait till it finishes this unit it is folding first.
With all three GPU's finally working at the same time my output should pick up and the team should go even higher!
When BAP gets his stuff going we will go even higher.
Windows 7 can be a real lshock to one's eyeballs when they are accustomed to XP. Unfortunately, you cannot run more than 3 1/2 GB's of memory in a 32 bit system which is why I suggested the windows 7x64 to him.
I'll make sure he gets through it okay and anyone else with windows 7 experience feel free to jump in, Mark... lol!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I am no expert in it, trust me. I know enough to get by, barely.
I have turned AERO OFF and am using Windows basic for my desktop. Less jumpy mouse cursor now that I have a good driver installed for the video card.
So let's wait and see what happens today. Hopefully we can make ourselves a very formidable team and someone can find the cure for old age before I get too much older!!!! Oh Ponce, where are you???????
