fair enough, an argument I have made many times such as, 'why not let evolution be the way god did it' cause in that I can keep discovering, and they can keep believing ... but FWIW it is my perception that there are folks that seek to stop the believers from believing and the discoverers from discovering, and the folks seeking to stop the discoverers outnumbers those seeking to stop the believers by billions to one, and the the rich histories of inquisitions, burning at stakes, stoning in town squares and so and makes me .. uh, cautious.
the one trouble is one persuasion almost inevitably has it in it somewhere that we gotta burn heathens, and the other persuasion couldn't give a flying monkey what the faithful think. One persuasion makes it a practice to hurt the other, to maim them, to deprive them and to torture them. And that is the faithful torturing the scientist.
