Dig, first of all let me say that I have found you to be the most reasonable voice concerning the curse that is WAVX on all these cursed time sucking boards. What I meant in my post was that parts of the Bible are written in different forms. I would consider the Gospels to be historical narratives, Genesis I'm told is written in a common Hebrew poetic form.Because Genesis is written in poetry, it doesn't mean to me that God didn't actually create the world in seven days, although many christians hold that view. To me the existence of the universe is a miracle by any definition. To me it points to a creator. It is no harder for me to believe in a creator who made the universe in 7 days than a creator who did it in 2 billion years. I could be wrong,my faith doesn't rest on this question . Either way is equally unexplainable, so I choose to rely on the scriptures as Jesus did.

this lost me, are you taking it literally, as a historical narrative, as poetry, or as whichever suits whenever? I agree, it is not science, but short of that it makes assertions that are to be variably read as poetry and historical narrative depending on mood?

Is Genesis poetry or historical narrative? Lets skip Leviticus. On all of Mark, Luke, Matthew and John ... they speak strikingly of things 50 years removed that so many traveling at the same time in the same place appear to have no recollection of, and rather notably Paul.

So, is that poetry or historical narrative?

From a scientific standpoint historical narrative is usually substantiated by independent text from literate societies. The society was literate, but other writers seemed to be asleep at the wheel, so while Paul was adopted, with is 80,000 words, few if any among them seemed to be confirmative of narrative viewpoint.

I should clarify, is not Paul's content revisionism in the face of his own and others comparative innattention?
