Hi Micro!

Oh no, my error, I should have said the cores-1 thing I've only seen discussed in the context of multiple threads, i.e. 8. My mistake.

I'm a little surprised the office 460 can't made motivated to do what the home machine does. There's probably something different, some obvious setting that differentiates the two machines. You didn't need to hear that, but what else could it be? We didn't really get into the power scheme and screen saver stuff, are they all OFF? btw let me get this in before I forget again so you know it's just not you on 3D clocks. Mine drop down to 2D once in a while without any apparent cause, there's no rhyme nor reason to it and the only way to get them back 3D again is a re-boot.
Hey, try -advmethods, that might get you a different group of WU's. You're getting 800x and 8018,19's and 20's now? They do work the cards hard, no doubt about it. I've never heard of a video card that won't o/c at least some either. ok, if all else fails and the new flag doesn't change anything and the new day doesn't bring a eureka moment, I guess underclocking is next just to see what happens. I'm getting to the bottom of the well here brother! Does the card behave any better when only gpu folding is running (no smp)? Or maybe you've done this already when you say you backed it off. I don't know, mine all just ran and I only brought problems on in the course of trying to run them at the brink. Has to be something obvious. Temps? Tried the cover off the case?

Hi ArVee!

I learned something! Thanks.

On duo core CPU's should I spec ONE CORE?
How do I do that? Of course, I finally got this home machine running.

I had NO JOY at work today with either machine. Now I'm just trying to get them to fold with the GPU fully engaged and not running on 2D clock cycles instead of 3D.

I would like to just get both video cards running normally and producing what they are capable of. I am beginning to really dislike these core 15 work units.

For some reason, I could not get my GTX460 in my office to run like the one here at home. It will NOT overclock even with upping the voltage. It wants to 2d clock cycle on me.

So I finally backed it off, made sure it was running FERMI and hopefully it does not NAN out on me since I left.

The verdict is still out on the 550 Ti . It doesn't like these core 15 work units at all and I am wondering if it should even be running them? Very slow with them.

Opinions?

Thanks,

micro....
