this lost me, are you taking it literally, as a historical narrative, as poetry, or as whichever suits whenever? I agree, it is not science, but short of that it makes assertions that are to be variably read as poetry and historical narrative depending on mood?

Is Genesis poetry or historical narrative? Lets skip Leviticus. On all of Mark, Luke, Matthew and John ... they speak strikingly of things 50 years removed that so many traveling at the same time in the same place appear to have no recollection of, and rather notably Paul.

So, is that poetry or historical narrative?

From a scientific standpoint historical narrative is usually substantiated by independent text from literate societies. The society was literate, but other writers seemed to be asleep at the wheel, so while Paul was adopted, with is 80,000 words, few if any among them seemed to be confirmative of narrative viewpoint.

I should clarify, is not Paul's content revisionism in the face of his own and others comparative innattention?

Two things: Was that a serious debate about the Giant footprint? Sounds like an odd version of the intelligent design debate. About the Bible: It was written by many different writers in many different literary styles. The sections written as historical narrative should be inturpreted as such, the sections written as poetry should be read as poetry ect... I don't think there are any sections written as a science textbook. I take the Bible literally under these guidelines the best I can.
