Hi ArVee!

I learned something! Thanks.

On duo core CPU's should I spec ONE CORE?
How do I do that? Of course, I finally got this home machine running.

I had NO JOY at work today with either machine. Now I'm just trying to get them to fold with the GPU fully engaged and not running on 2D clock cycles instead of 3D.

I would like to just get both video cards running normally and producing what they are capable of. I am beginning to really dislike these core 15 work units.

For some reason, I could not get my GTX460 in my office to run like the one here at home. It will NOT overclock even with upping the voltage. It wants to 2d clock cycle on me.

So I finally backed it off, made sure it was running FERMI and hopefully it does not NAN out on me since I left.

The verdict is still out on the 550 Ti . It doesn't like these core 15 work units at all and I am wondering if it should even be running them? Very slow with them.

Opinions?

Thanks,

micro....

Micro/BAP --

Does BAP use FahSpy? There's a button there to click that will switch the display window from the log to what's set for the config (ie to check for your passkey and whatever else might be in there after the setting up splurge, BAP).

Now here's a little mental note for both of youse guys if you're interested to come back to say next week or whenever your Win 7 systems are going full blast and stable with both smp and gpu folding: task scheduling starts to matter with Win 7 apparently when both types of folding are running. It's said you should spec odd numbers of cores i.e what you have minus 1, and it apparently makes a world of difference in how the gpu and cpu play nicely together. When you get it all rock solid why don't you try it and see, you can always switch right back if there's anything you don't like or if just plain doesn't work.

I'd do it myself except I'm still on XP and seeing no reason for changing. Just something you can keep in mind for when things are perfect and you're bored. Cheesy Grin
