Hi BAP!

I use the 6.34 client on my windows 7 computer also.

Here is the thing. When you do the config, you do not have to put in the configonly flag.

That flag is for configuring the client ONLY.

Did you get the configuration part of the install where you have to put in your NAME, your team number etc...?

Where it says additional flags I think you only need to use the -smp 8 flag.

It should be fine after that.

Did you set up a folder in the C drive and open up your folding client inside that?

That is what I did.

After set up you will have a folding icon on your desktop.

Clicking on that will start the folding process.

You should get that configonly flag out of there though. I think that is what is messing you up..

micro...

This may be really stupid of me, but I want to install SMP on my new backup desktop. Might as well have it run folding. I am new to Windows 7. The instructions are here for SMP Version 6.34

http://folding.stanford.edu/Site/WinSMPGuide

Does this apply to Windows 7? Are there any Windows 7 instructions around? For the heck of it I let the module they gave execute, put in team and key and advanced methods, etc. When it asked for any more parameters, I put in -configonly -smp 8 and it bombed.

Then I tried all sorts of stuff. I have no idea if I should delete anything or start over, but then clicking on the folding icon started it running. It shows my name and team328 but don't know if the key took. Task manager shows 12 percent out of 100 percent so that's wrong. 24 minutes to run 1 step. If there is a way to properly install with Windows 7, I sure haven't a clue.
