wavy. Don't you think eternal life would get a little tiresome: as in been there, done that? Just to put it into perspective, try a million trillion years.
And another thing: Those who choose to worship,myself included, would not agree that God has put himself beyond our capacity to confirm His existence but rather that He has revealed Himself to us through His creation and through His Son and through His word. Of course if He had not chosen to reveal Himself then you would be correct that we would never be able to confirm His existence. You should not limit everyone to your own experience. I do agree with you that there was a time when science and religion were much closer, both being concerned with truth. You say that religion "lost it's purpose in understanding the world arouind us" Isn't there an inherent differece between ( here I'm speaking of the Christian faith) religion which claims to have received knowlege through revelation and science which is more of an on going search. For me, and I realize this will not sound humble, but if you think about it, it is, I've found the answer. The answer can not be found through science because science is only one part of the puzzle. I don't understand why there is a conflict. Can't we try to figure out how the universe works whether we believe it was created or it is eternal using the same methods?
