Hi dig,
Now I am in an awkward position. I think you both bring things but they are different ones.
Let me try an analogy.
awk's a technology guy. He sees things through that lens. I think of that lens as being like a kind of telescope. It's good for seeing big faraway objects but it's not necessarily so good for things that are close up. It is also very sensitive to light pollution and vibration.
Your vision is more granular and nuanced. You build a picture from amongst the particles. You have a microscope. It requires bright light. It is especially valuable for things that are right in front of us.
Busily using your microscope and a very bright light, you see things that are not necessarily visible to the naked eye. Using awk's telescope, he sees you as the very source of light pollution and vibration and he worries that because of you the focus on the single star may be lost.
I see how you both think and how that informs your conclusion.
In this case, I think something has to be done due to what seems to be a major granular failure.
But like awk, and probably yourself, I don't want to lose direction.
I don't think the board needs more vision. It needs more discipline. The king of discipline is called 24601.
