Frankly, I feel guilty for having argued that of the two options (demand and crazy) suggested by the hiring of sales staff in 2011, the choice had to have been based on fore-knowledge of a demand ramp. No one is crazy enough to hire like that without seeing signs of strong growth ahead.

Whenever I rely on prudent sense, I will have to kick myself in future.

They don't know. Their decisions are based on wild-arse guesses.

After all, I think awk was right about the emotion. I do feel angry. But it isn't about the price. It's about the damn decision-making. And then I feel guilty, having believed they could not possibly have designed a strategy that led here and finding myself fallen into a Sprague hole. Again. How dumb am I.

Hah!

You know, it is not popular to recognise that there's an issue in Wave's hopeless forecasting, set alongside the reckless decision to hire so many people in 2011 while not knowing they had the demand to support the increased costs in the pipeline.

If you can't forecast, you are crazy to expand your cost base.

The folks that don't want to think about these things surely should see their importance now.

This isn't merely a technology story. If the management makes bad decisions about cash flow, bad things happen.

I hope the brighter folks take this on board.

It's not so much fun being the lucifers of the DD board. Most folks seem not to have the stomach for it. Too busy polishing their stars, perhaps. But someone has to do the work of explaining reality.
