"They got a grant.."
...well, the feds sent us a Grant once and he nearly burned the whole state to the ground. They better do what he says.
...btw: I got a nephew who is a cop in a small town south of atlanta. They put in for some federal funds under some provision of homeland security or something. They knew that ya always pad your request because da gubmint likes to give ya less than ya ask for cause it makes em feel like they are saving money when they only give ya part of what ya absolutely cannot do without. The department has a chief a couple of captains three or four lieutennants and about 18 regular cops. They requested machine guns and armored cars and probaly flame throwers. (a crowd control thingy). Da gubmint say "OK, it's on the way!" As with most gubmint grants it has strings attached. When ya gets that kind of hardware ya got to build an armory to put it in to keep it safe and secure and to keep the peasants from using it from overthrowing da gubmint. The armory is gonna cost em more than the weaponry they are putting in it, and the local city gubmint has to fund the armory.
Da local Polices department sent a letter modifying their request for assistance down to 2 pump shotguns.
Liberals are like a "Slinky". Totally useless, but somehow ya can't help but smile when you see one tumble down a flight of stairs!
