The funny thing about all this Obama "spiking the football" nonsense is that rightwingnuts are doing Obama a huge favor with their snit.
Because of all the GOP petulance, millons more people have seen the ad with Clinton praising Obama's decision to go after Bin Laden. Romney's comment regarding Carter was a cheap shot that makes Romney seem small. I know they don't mean it this way, but it comes off as Republicans secretly wish Obama had failed and Osama were still around. (And it plays into the Democrats' plan to portray the Republican congress as economic saboteurs who are preventing a more robust economic recovery because they'd rather see Americans suffer than see Obama re-elected.)
The whole Osama thing is a reminder of what's probably the best thing Obama has done during his entire presidency and completely undercuts, if not reverses the long-standing meme of Republicans being stronger on defense and foreign policy issues.
BTW, who is on Romney's foreign policy team? Michael Chertoff and Eliot Cohen? Dan Senor? These guys are loser retreads from the Bush administration and part of the team that was wrong about everything. Wolfowitz and Senor especially remind me of the George Costanza "opposite" skit on Seinfeld. Whatever they say, do the opposite.
