Micro,

how did you find this lag issue, what led you to it? Also, any idea what they meant in the first thread you posted about 'optimize for best performance'?

Now you have me tinkering with the aero desktop settings too, I'll have to let you know how it changes my ppd. Thanks for the info!

I went home and did the following.

My system is Windows 7 Pro 64 bit.

1. I changed drivers and went back to a 270. something.

That by itself did not solve the lag time when the folding started on the cpu and the GPU.

WHAT SOLVED it was right clicking on the desktop in an open space and choosing an AERO THEME instead of a basic or classic one.

After this, I ramped up the CPU slider bar on my configuration for the GPU to 100 percent and then tried out the computer.

NO LAG TIME. It is in the desktop graphics.. You MUST use AERO contrary to what my first post says.

THAT seems to be the difference maker. I am unsure if changing the video card driver had ANY effect but right now I am leaving it alone.

ARVEE

I also found the voltage control on Precision Tune and used it. I bumped up the voltage barely and then raised the shaders to 1864 or so on that GTX 460.

I'll check on it when I get back home.

If okay, I'll go higher.

the best,

micro...
