Here's an 8 year chart, note the steady rise in Bush years, the sharp drop as Obama took office, and now it's back to the regular industry gaming... The Party Of NO is behind all of it, record oil profits, overpaid execs, etc.. Winger didn't care when it was a Bushie event.. They loved it! I got stuck this side of Laughlin in that time frame, over $6/per gallon... Small single tank, towing, no choice...

There were many weeks, while George W. Bush was in office, that I paid significantly more than $3.999 a gallon. In June of 2008, gas prices in California hit an average high of nearly $4.60 for regular.

Since Obama took office, the highest average price here has been just under $4.35 and on a statewide average, they are now down to around $4.14.
