I was looking at that map focusing on a few places where I once lived and so I checked the county in the UP of Michigan where my Alma Mater is located and noted that it shows that there were 0% Native American residents, yet the county that bordered it was listed as 13%. Now you have to understand, this is in the North woods of Michigan where there's barely any signs indicating that you've left one county and entered another and I just can't believe that some of what is a rather substantial Indian population, which has been living there since before the French showed-up in the 1600's, was confined to just one side of an imaginary line. And it's not like these are big far-flung counties, they are both rather modest in size.
