If Obama wins and the status quo remains in Congress, the GOP will at least be able to stop him from doing anything they truly don't want him to do and never have to justify their behavior to anyone but themselves. However, if Willard wins, they will be expected to go along with his programs and support his proposals. To do otherwise would open themselves up to retaliation and retribution from the fat-cats who paid all those hundreds of millions putting him in the White House and now they want some return on that investment (I mean that they way it worked at Bain Capital).

"Set aside your biases and myopia (that word means "near-signtedness," zzstar) and you can't help but conclude that the odds greatly favor the Republicans this time."

I agree the odds DID favor the republicans this time.
That was before the candidates jumped in.
And before their antics in the primary.
And last but not least, before Mittens became their candidate.
Many republicans can't stomach him. Some would rather Obama get another four & then put a candidate of their liking up. They don't like the thought of a 'moderate' in the Oval.
