i did speak to IR for about 20 minutes this morning and we did talk about arb.

it's crazy to have to wait almost 2 years before the "hearing" this summer for tech solutions.

asked about the other arbs as well, which is pretty significant in terms of dollar amount... for some reason they are pretty confident that it will resolve quickly and this year... strange.

i also got the impression that the arb(s?) were based on tablets and whether they were covered under the PLA.


asked about SAM and current availability/target customers and is it just restricted to just networks based on alc/lucent light radio (she said no but will check)... i.e. can it work on verizon's network TODAY (will get back to me)

asked why they are buying back shares, even as late as april up until earnings, when they knew they were going to miss... could have bought back after earnings (or is that allowed?)


she did say they are doing things in R&D but can't talk about but optimistic about it (similar to what WM said on teh cc).

You hearing anything out there? I was going to email JP for the first time in 10 years but i'm sure she is bombarded with emails and phone calls. This price is almost silly but it also tells me that WS really has no confidence in MGMT to deliver what they say they will. Im really hoping that 4G license that RS alluded to is with Apple or SAM. I gotta belive Terry Clontz and the board are doing there best to deliver some news before the ASM, my fear if we have a market pullback we could drop even further and get to almost where a hostile bid of $30-$35 would be offered and there might not much we can do about it.

Also I read the 10Q last night and the 3 arbitrations does concern me a bit. It seems almost any licensee can invoke an arbitration clause and tie IDCC up for years without paying. The tech solutions will take almost 2.5 years to resolve. LG even tried to invoke after their licensee expried.

I do think WM and Clontz are good guys but damn when you see the share price act like sometimes doubt arises. I know they can change perception rather quickly with some big licensees but even I have to admit the last 2 years they haven't had any signficant licensees.

Don't mean to rant and after 10 11 years in this stock I can't believe the low 20s are still a possibility here in 2012. Still hoping MGMT gets something done soon.
