Remember, many nuns work at Catholic hospitals and they came down on Obama's side during the recent 'debate' over contraceptives, in complete opposition to the Conference of American Bishops. This may be the price that they will now have to pay. I suspect that the Vatican should have waited until after the election since this has the potential to bring those issues front and center again and if it looks like these religious orders are being punished for the positions that many of them took, it could create quite a bit of sympathy for them and their situations and if that's the case, the Bishops will be seen as the 'bad guys' in all this.
