Hi KTC,

"Basically, it's because Republicans are a bunch of assholes and extremists, and Obama appears more likeable, though obviously ineffective."

You know most of the time 'we' vote for the lesser of...

The latest crop of republicans, make Obama look better & better. Even when Obama disappoints at times, he much better than the alternative!

Clo:

I'm not sure that Mitt's words uttered while wooing Republican defectives will matter all that much during the general election.

Trying to prove that Obama sucks less than Romney may not do the trick. Each side has about 30% of the vote locked in. Obama now holds the majority of the remainder, but not for sound or unassailable reasons. Basically, it's because Republicans are a bunch of assholes and extremists, and Obama appears more likeable, though obviously ineffective.

I played much golf and socialized with many folks during my recent trip to North Carolina (voted Obama in 2008. I was hard pressed to find a single Obama supporter or even a defender. 2008 supporters feel betrayed (as do I). North Carolina unemployment finally dipped below 10% last month.
