As a oppose to what, allowing 40 million Americans to continue to live without any hope of being able to find affordable healthcare?

Besides, if you think that 'Obamacare' is 'universal healthcare' you're sadly misinformed. ONLY a single-payer system, such as 'Medicare for ALL', would meet that criteria, but do you honestly think that anyone could have gotten anywhere close to that in this environment?

That being said, it's quite possible that if the Health Care Reform law IS thrown out by the Supremes, that this just might be the first step toward a true single-payer system since even some of the conservative judges have admitted that if it was handled like the Medicare system where payroll taxes were used to pay for your coverage, that this would not produce the concern they have over it currently being dependent on the 'mandate' in order to get to full coverage.

OCU:

Well, if you weren't interested in addressing our nation's healthcare crisis, I guess Obamacare will put off having to take realistic or effective action through 2014. A problem postponed is a problem solved.

There was so much other action relating to gaining concensus, our population, our population growth, immigration, healthcare costs, healthcare issuers, and our economy that had to be analyzed and factored prior to a huge universal healthcare program being instituted, especially at the height of the financial collapse.
