Hi Alea.....

Fluid dynamics is one theory......no problem.

I see your point........that because Saturn is the 6th planet,
assigning a six sided shape to it is plausible......although
it has only recently been discovered,so no ancient astrologer
could have observed it.

It can therefore only be coincidence.........except Saturn also
has an Eye on it's south pole as well as the hexagram on it's
north & the Saturn talisman of ancient astrologers also
contained the Eye of Saturn.

4600 years ago in the time of Sumer the ancient astrologers
were aware of the Hexagram & Eye on Saturn & you think
that's a high probability event?Smile

Doma.

Am I permitted to suggest that the hexagon shape is a natural feature of fluid dynamics?

And that numerology tends to find significance mostly in numbers up to 12?

And that numbers tend to be associated with polygons with a similar number of sides?

And that the ancients had seven heavenly objects to which they assigned significance: the sun, the moon and five planets?

It doesn't seem like a coincidence of solar proportions that some folks had selected the number six to go with Saturn.

Given Saturn currently has an observable hexagon in its swirl, what is the likelihood that some numerologists had assigned the number 6 to that heavenly object?

I'd say it is something like 1 in 7 or 1 in 12.

But I have just discovered that modern astrologers assign the number 8 to Saturn. So if Saturn attracts more than one number, then I guess the odds are lower. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Astrology_and_numerology

It doesn't look like it's a coincidence so much as a fairly high probability event.
