On the phones my working model is Wave nets a per device royalty for providing a identity/integrity layer, the mnos pay pseudo-rental for space in a time/active-device formula (again really just a royalty, not necessarily going to Wave but perhaps a Wave consortium of chip/TL/handset/Wave), and the mnos and VISA net the per transaction component. Alternatively one has two platforms, TZ serving enterprise and gov security requirements sans consumer payment and consumer payment consumated in a separate SIM-dependent mno/Visa solution. I'm inclined towards the latter. Wave loses anything resembling transactional fees and net only integrity/identity/management for enterpriwse and gov on the parallel TZ. I'd have to go back to the old schematic cartoons to see if this meshes with the perceived architecture going forward or not, but I can't for the life of me see Wave getting into the transactional space.

that's it in a nutshell. in thinking about the matrix, it's all about shifting plate tectonics.

for wave to optimise its opportunity, i need to think, for instance, about how payments will be processed in the phone space - and to take seriously notions of incumbency and suchlike. what the mnos want matters, even if in the end they cave to the use of trustzone - the resistance extends the timeline.

i also need to think a bit about issues like governance and cash flow which affect my participation in wave's success.
