that's it in a nutshell. in thinking about the matrix, it's all about shifting plate tectonics.

for wave to optimise its opportunity, i need to think, for instance, about how payments will be processed in the phone space - and to take seriously notions of incumbency and suchlike. what the mnos want matters, even if in the end they cave to the use of trustzone - the resistance extends the timeline.

i also need to think a bit about issues like governance and cash flow which affect my participation in wave's success.

yes, when viewed from a broader matrix point of view the needlesome bits become the crucial bits. As I said yesterday, Wave could ink a billion dollar DoD contract tomorrow, and while sparks would fly and there would be much satisfaction, it would do little to address or answer the preponderance of needlesome thingys. Cetainly immediate cash-flow would move off the table, but not the dynamic of its management. The direction, strategy and interloping with the mnos would remain entirely unresolved. Whether or not future misses on the convergence of enthusiasm, opportunity, resources and reality would only change in their magnitude but not in their direction would similarly remain entirely unresolved. So while we, the peanut gallery, await restoration of the treasury, systemic matters lie untouched, sparingly considered, all while lacking IMO anything resembling the possibility of passive resolution.
