ribit, I lean toward manslaughter. If he had waited for the police this would have had a much different outcome. It seems to me that his actions created the problem that led to the outcome.

...no, I think ya misunderstood what I was saying. Let me try again.

It looks to me that the folks who operate the wheels of justice in florida have either been guilty of tossing an innocent person under the bus to appease the angry mob or they got caught trying to let an actual crime slide under the radar. The failure of them to act in a timely fashion without a gathering of a crowd indicates they were just gonna let this slip under the radar, in which case they (florida justice folks) are guilty of not doing their job. The other scenario is that they did investigate in a timely fashion and determined that there was no crime and decided to toss zimmerman under the bus to appease the angry mob. In either case, the florida justice folks are or have been negligent.

I dunno what the truth is. I just want zimmerman to get the same benefit of the doubt that OJ Simpson got. After Tawana Brawley and the Duke LaCrosse team incident you can (hopefully) understand my skepticism of "black outrage".

Based on what I know of the case at this time I would say that zimmerman could be guilty of manslaughter (couldn't specify voluntary or involuntary). I don't think the Murder II will stick because in Florida murder II ya have to prove that it was pre-meditated. In other words, zimmerman would have had to have planned in advance to kill Martin.

It's not below gubmint standards to either punish an innocent for political expediency or to let a guilty one slide cause he's one of the "good old boys". There was once a case where a good old boy drove off a bridge with a woman in the backseat of his car ... but that's a different story for a different time.
