...they bypassed the grand jury in florida because, imho, they were afraid they would get a no bill.

I feel sorry for George Zimmerman. Remember the riots that followed the acquittal of the Rodney King police offiers? There's no way Florida will give Zimmerman a fair trial. No way. For that matter, what juror would dare to vote "not guilty" knowing that the Black Panthers would then put out a bounty on his head and Spike Lee will publicize where he lives?

Look at it this way. The prosecutors and police were VERY reluctant to press charges, despite all the political pressure to do so. That's because the evidence against Zimmerman must be very, very, VERY weak. Or non-existent.

But does anyone on this forum want to bet against me when I say that if tried, he will be convicted? If so, please speak up.

Justice is dead in America.

I *do* like it, though, that America will get a good chance to learn more about what happened. Hopefully, when the conviction comes through, many of us will get the chance to be good and ashamed of ourselves.

George Zimmerman to be charged in Trayvon Martin shooting, official says

Florida special prosecutor Angela Corey plans to announce as early as Wednesday afternoon that she is charging neighborhood watch volunteer George Zimmerman in the shooting of Trayvon Martin, according to a law enforcement official close to the investigation.

It was not immediately clear what charge Zimmerman will face.

Martin, 17 and unarmed, was shot and killed Feb. 26 by Zimmerman, who said he was acting in self-defense. Police in Sanford, Fla., where the shooting took place, did not charge Zimmerman, citing the state’s “stand your ground” law.

Corey told reporters Tuesday night that she would hold a news conference about the case within 72 hours. A news release from her office said the event will be held in Sanford or Jacksonville, Fla.
