But it would still be a shame if the law were overturned based on a suspected issue which was fully accounted for in the law.
BTW, another internet screed is making the rounds claiming that 'Obamacare' will require that doctors must ask ALL their patients if they own any guns and if so, how many and where do they keep them. The claim is that this is part of Obama's plan to collect enough information so the government can confiscate the guns at any time, perhaps using your medical records to show that you're too 'unstable' or 'depressed' to be allowed to keep a firearm in your house.
Florida has gone so far as to pass a law, which Rick Scott immediately signed, which made it a felony for a doctor to ask a patient about gun ownership under ANY circumstances, even if it were a psychiatrist who felt that their patient was self-destructive or a threat to others, a situation where it has been common practice in the past for a physician to make inquires like this, either to the patient directly or to a close family member. Fortunately, the law was thrown out in court since it interfered with the medical obligations placed on doctors to ascertain information like that when they DO feel that their patient, or immediate family members, may be in danger if there was easy access to a gun.
