I don't think so - though there's an article about Rubio claiming he went from Catholic to Mormon to Catholic to Baptist to Catholic. That makes him . . . Catholic.

Personally, I don't know what all the fuss is about. Every Protestant denomination has different beliefs. (And I once read there are something on the order of forty THOUSAND different denominations.) And Catholics consider Protestants so misguided that they're ALL hell-bound. How can Latter-day Saints be any worse for the country?

The Mormons I've known have been really, REALLY nice people. I can't say that enough. Really nice. Like the Osmonds. I have tremendous respect for their religion. Unlike most, it successfully builds stronger families. (By comparison, I know families that have been torn apart by Christianity.) It seems to do an outstanding job of molding its members into being decent, kind human beings who practice their faith seven days per week.

Perhaps I could say the same about Budhism, but my suspicion is that Budhism only attracts those who naturally inclined to be decent and kind people. With Mormons, though, it's obviously the religion that's made the difference.

Now, someone out there is going to say that they know some real S.O.B. who's a Mormon. And they'd be telling the truth. I've known a few such Mormons too. One was a drunk. Another had converted for sex. But S.O.B.s are a dime a dozen. You'd find them in any religion. It's the really good people who are rare, and the Mormon religion has far more than its share.

Romney, for instance, seems to be a GOOD person. I don't know that much about him, but I don't think we'll be reading about his sexploits, draft dodging, drug habits or vulgar behavior as we have with most of the other candidates. I have some concerns that he doesn't REALLY have the conservative financial values the country desperately needs, but then I have those concerns about all of the other candidates except Ron Paul - and even Ron Paul would probably be unable to turn this bus around. Even with the powers of the Presidency, a good man can only do so much when the entire country has taken to dependency and leeching.
