I run Microsoft Office 2003 on my Windows 7 64 bit operating system and many other much older 32 bit software programs with NO PROBLEMS.

MOST hardware manufacturers, like your printer company, monitor, will have added a windows 7 64 bit driver upgrade for those devices if you go their driver download site for your devices and check.

G GB is a good number and NO, it has nothing to do with your VIDEO CARD folding (GPU) because that memory is on the CARD itself.

You would have plenty of memory to operate your system and whatever the SMP folding would avail itself of.

Sounds good to me!

People. My backup desktop has been down for many weeks. After trying to restore it, turns out the motherboard is kaput. The machine is four years old. I've decided to upgrade many parts. I run XP on all my machines. It's easier and my legacy programs will work.

Questions: any particular advantage to Windows 7? And does memory count for folding at all or do we know? I was thinking a normal 4G memory.
