I guess it is the nature of gold bugs to foresee doom in the world and misery in every statistic.
I still take courage from the trend. But I don't refute the fact that recovering from a failure of the type we recently experienced is a difficult thing and I'm surprised that job growth has been as consistently positive as it has been for as long as it has been, while being hampered by the insistence on austerity by so many.
If only the government could stimulate the economy with another $1/2 trillion of programs. I'd love to see a North American monorail network established, major incentives to use alternative energy, a smart grid and a commitment to online security amongst other things.
