I think it was about 1968 that I learned without a doubt that TV "news" can and will slant a report to suit their views.

A subject that I was VERY familiar with was reported on. It was extremely obvious that they were INTENTIONALLY misrepresenting the facts. I've never forgotten that.

Sometimes they screw things up through "ignorance", because they are, after all, just reporters. Not subject matter experts.

But it is particularly disheartening and maddening when they do it intentionally.

It is very difficult to find good, bias-free reporting. I don't need to know the anchor's opinion, even when (s)he tries to subliminally give it to me through non-verbal signals.

Edited together snippits to misrepresent - you see/hear it everyday. Don't even bother to let me hear it if you won't let me hear the context.

Yep, just as expected ... NBC looked at the egg on its face for a nano-second, wiped it off onto the floor, and immediately swept it under the rug without any explanation whatsoever. Obviously, no one can even trust NBC to report that the sky is blue and grass is green. NBC is a laughingstock. Rolling Eyes B. 

NBC: We deeply regret our error that made George Zimmerman sound like a racist, and now you should leave us alone

Everything’s okay, you guys. NBC has finished a no-doubt rigorous internal investigation into what happened to the audio of George Zimmerman’s 911 call. Here’s their statement:

During our investigation it became evident that there was an error made in the production process that we deeply regret. We will be taking the necessary steps to prevent this from happening in the future and apologize to our viewers.

That’s it. That’s the entire statement. Why did it happen? None of your business. Who did it, and what happened to them? You don’t get to know. Does NBC have anything to say to George Zimmerman for misrepresenting him so egregiously? Get over it.

Hey, it was an “error,” they “deeply regret” it, and now you’ll just have to take their word that it’ll never happen again.

How do you like that? Seriously, I’m asking.
