Some liabilities are obligations to pay money and some liabilities are obligations to provide a service.

The royalty liability sounds like the former. So they are using some kind of information (software, say) which obliges them to make payment(s) in the future (after a year). My guess is that there's some third party software license wrapped into Safend's product, which they will be paying off over several years.

We shouldn't have to wait too long to discover the detail.

What do the word's royalty liability mean?

I mean DefRev is a listed as a liability, and the use of the liability column is often counter-intuitive to me.

Any examples? One one hand I was wondering if it was just a Safend version of that via the Credant arangement, alternatively Safend uses somebody elses tech that will, going forward, charge against Wave. Clueless on even the direction or parameters of what that means, how it would come off, and where it would go when it does.
